Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) listed Diatomaceous Earth is a non-toxic deodorizer and cleanser for your home.
Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth is an all natural earth-friendly product. This versatile substance is good for people, pets and their living environment.
The following are just a few of the many household uses for Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth (DE);
Garbage can – to deodorize, sprinkle DE in the bottom of garbage can.
Kitty Litter Box – mix a handful of DE with kitty litter. Not only does it deodorize, DE also absorbs moisture. It is odorless so it will not deter cats from using their box.
Vacuum Cleaner – place two tablespoons of DE in vacuum bag or the bag-less canister.
Refrigerator – works as well, if not better, than baking soda.
Footwear – sprinkle in shoes, leave overnight, shake out well and then wipe up residue
Closets and Drawers – make sachets with DE and hang or place to remove stale odors.
Soft Scrub Cleanser – mix DE with dish soap to make a paste for a natural low-abrasive cleanser.
Muddy Footprints on Carpet – apply DE powder on carpet, rub in lightly. Vacuum in 1-2 hours when DE is dry.
Carpet Deodorizer – rub lightly on dry carpet, leave on overnight and vacuum in the morning.
Polish Silver, Gold, and Jewelry – mix DE with water to form paste. Apply with cloth and wash well. Tarnish can also be removed by rubbing with dry DE and a cloth.
